What happened

SunPower Corporation filed Chapter 11 on Aug 5, 2024. Complete Solaria (now 'SunPower Inc.') bought some assets including the SunPower brand, Blue Raven Solar and New Homes divisions, in a sale that closed Sep 30, 2024. The new SunPower Inc. did not take on leases, PPAs, or any systems installed on or before Sep 30, 2024.

What it means for customers

Cash/loan customers are told to contact their lender. Lease/PPA customers are told to contact their financier or SunStrong Management at (833) 514-1858. SunStrong took over account management for about 110,000 former SunPower customers; its SunStrong Connect app (formerly mySunPower) is the monitoring tool and the web portal is no longer supported.

Next steps: 1) Find your equipment brand and get monitoring back. 2) Check who bills you (lender or lease company) and keep records. 3) Find a repair company in your state. Full checklist: what to do.
